The Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren) and Mrs Warren wild leave Christchurch this afternoon tor England, Canada, and the United States. They will attend the Anglican Congress in Toronto, to which they are both delegates, and a meeting of the central committee of the World Council of Churches, on which the Bishop represents New Zealand, They will return in September. Admiral Sir Varyl Begg, Commander -in - Chief, Far East, left Auckland by air yesterday to return to Singapore.—(P.A.) The general secretary of Federated Farmers of New Zealand. Mr A. P. O’Shea, will be guest speaker at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association at the Winter Garden on July 31. He will talk on the relationship between primary industry and manufacturing industry in New Zealand. About 150 association. members and guests are expected to attend. Brigadier J. R, Page, a distinguished former Army officer, former All Black and Rugby administrator, will become the general secretary of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme from July 1. He will leave New Zealand at the end of August for two months’ study io England (PA.) The new Canterbury Public Relations Officer. Mr C. N. Todd, was officially welcomed by members of the Canterbury Progress Association at its monthly meeting.
