MAIMOA NOT ELIGIBLE

No Start At Trentham (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 27. Maimoa, which drew No. 1 in the Whyte Handicap at Trentham on Saturday week, is ineligible and will not start. The eligibility clause for the race stipulates that it is for horses which at the time of acceptance have won a flat race, other than a hack race, of at least £4OO to the winner. At Ellerslie on June 3, Maimoa won the Otara Handicap, the winner of which receiyed £495, but this race was run under hack conditions. The secretary of the Wellington Racing Club, Mr H. W. Meyer, said tonight that Maimoa would not appear on the race book and that acceptance would be the subject of a judicial investigation.
