VOTE FOR STOPPAGE

Power Board Workers (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. June 27. Mir J. F Taylor, secretary of the Auckland branch 'of the North Island Electrical Workers' Union, said tonight that 211 members of the union employed by the Auckland Electric Power Board voted in a secret ballot to give the board 14 days* notice of their intention to cease work. The union claims the board's incentive payments scheme leads to men employed on live-line work taking unnecessary risks. It asks that the incentive scheme be replaced by a wage payment.
