NATURE OF SCHOOL
Concern Felt By Council
The Christchurch Postprimary Schools’ Council will seek assurances from the Department of Education on the nature of the proposed technical high school in Ensors road.
Members of the council expressed concern that the new school coulfl have a detrimental effect on the rolls of others if it became a normal high school serving tile area close to it.
Mrs P. A. Bennett suggested that the technical high school should come under the supervision of the council, as it had been before it was
administered in conjunction with the polytechnic. TJie council had been concerned for some time with the establishment of an adequate high school in the area, and it was a ground for some concern that planning should have reached the present stage without the council having been informed, said the acting-chairman (Professor G. Jobberns).
