MOTHERS AT BURWOOD
Children May Visit Children of mothers in the Burwood Hospital maternity unit will be allowed to visit their mother for an hour on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, provided they are accompanied by an adult, the North Canterbury Hospital Board decided yesterday. The move is for a trial period, Mrs R. M. Macfarlane supported the scheme “wholeheartedly.” Miss B. Webb also supported it, but questioned whether small children could visit for a whole hour without being noisy. “Grandma will head them off before that happens,” said the chairman (Dr. L. C. L. Averill).
