STAKES TO GO UP
Kaikoura Club Decision Stakes are to be increased for the Kaikoura Trotting Club's annual meeting next season. This was decided at the annual meeting of the club after it had been reported that the year's operations had shown a profit of £l2l. The club's last annual meeting showed a profit of £1193, cowared with £937 the previous year.
The balance-sheet was the best presented to the club, said Mr H. J. Hewson, who ; congratulated the committee. The accumulated funds showed an increase of £740.
Tfie club decided to send a letter to J. H. Docherty congratulating him on his training and driving successes during the season. Officers elected were: patron, Mr T. P. Shand; president, Mr V. L. Smith: vicepresidents. Messrs I. Q. Manson, T. H. Rainey, and R. J. Broadhurst: committee, Messrs G. Dorman. J. Peach, W. M Craig, L. H. Weavers, O. F. Gibson: stewards. Messrs N L. Guthrie, P. M. Harnett, and N. K. Young; treasurer. Mr J. J. Harnett; immediate past president, Mr Hewson.
