RAPAKI TRACK

“Last Refuge” For Walkers Sought

An appeal to keep Rapaki track reserved as a "last refuge” for persons who still prefer to walk was made to the Heathcote County Council by Mrs G. Anderson, of Garden road. Mrs Anderson said in a letter that the track had recently been used by cars and motor-cycles. “It is quite unsuitable for wheeled traffic and there is a definite hazard to the numerous persons who still like to use the track for walking purposes,” she said.

The council decided to erect signs at each end of the road saying it is unsuitable for vehicular traffic.
