Tennis Britain Beats Russia
(N.Z.P .A.-Reuter—Copyright) EASTBOURNE, June, 16. Britain defeated the Soviet Union, 4-1, in the' European Zone Davis Cup quarter-final match at Eastbourne, on Saturday. R. K. Wilson clinched the tie when he defeated A. Metreveli. 7-5, 8-6, 6-2, in the first of the final * day’s two singles matches. M. J. Sangster took the score to 4-1 when he beat T. Lejus, 6-4, 6-4. 6-3.
Results of other European Zone quarter-finals were:— Sweden led Jugoslavia, 3-0; South Africa led Denmark, 3-0; Spain led France, 2-1.
