Motor-Cycling T.T.WIN FOR ANDERSON

Twice Breaks Lap Record

ISLE OF MAN. June 13.

The Waikato rider. H. Anderson, broke the lap record twice and was unchallenged to win the 125 C.C. light-weight Tourist Trophy motor-cycle race at the Isle of Man yesterday.

He completed the 1113 miles In Ihr 16mln Ssec. at an average speed of 89 27 miles an hour. At the end of the first lap, Anderson had a lead of 19 seconds over the West German rider, Ernest Detner. who was second.

In the second lap, Anderson broke the tap record with a speed of 90.65 miles an hour, and increased his lead to 50 seconds. The tap record was held at 90.13 miles an hour. In the last lap, Anderson boosted the record to 91.38 miles an hour, and finished with a clear margin of 80sec over his Suzuki team-mates, F. Perris, of London, and A. Degner (Germany).

Anderson’s victory takes him to the head of the 125 c.c. world championship table, with 22 points. L. T’averi, of Switzerland. who won the race last year, is second with 18 points. Another New Zealander. M. Low, rode steadily to finish eighteenth In the field of 53 at an average speed of 79.89 miles an hour. J Redman, of Southern Rhodesia, riding a Honda, won the junior 350 c.c. race, with John Hartle of Britain, on a Gilera, second. and F. Stastny. a Czech, third, on a Jawa. Low finished seventh at 87.28 miles an hour on an A.J.S. G. Dickson. of Auckland, was
