Confectionery Prices
Sir, —I am grateful to the confectionery manufacturers fot increasing their prices 25 per cent. The darling little block of chocolate that now costs so much has finally given myself and family courage to give up what we have so long realised (to be the excessive consumption of sweets. I feel no malice towards these gentlemen even When, as a retired grocer, I observed in an old price book of 1950. biscuits selling at Is' 3d per pound now 2s Bd. Perhaps 3s soon? —Yours, etc..
