House Damaged By Fire

Slight damage was done to the wall and roof of a bathroom in a house at 225 Armagh street when a gas geyser caught fire about 10 30 p.m. yesterday. The house, which is owned by Mr D. Heney is divided into four flats. It is occupied by seven young men. The fire started when one of the young men made an attempt to light the gas. Flames leapt from the geyser. Another occupant of the flat then went to the Central Fire Station and two units were sent to the house. The fire was quickly brought under control but firemen remained at the scene for some time to make sure there was no danger of the fire starting again from sparks lodged in the budding. A large section of the roof of- the house, above the bathroom, was removed, as was a wall between the bathroom and the kitchen.
