Union Agrees On New Day
The Canterbury Rugby Union's senior draw will, in future, be announced on the Saturday after the results of the days senior matches are known, a meeting of the management committee decided last evening Mr D B. Doake said that by having the senior draw published on a Wednesday, an opportunity to keep the public interested m Rugbv while tee results were still fresh in their mind* was beinglost. Mr C. H. McPhail said that an awkward situation could a-ise if the senior draw was published on.a Saturday, and then it was altered at the meeting of the management committee on Tuesday Th®t had happened before, he added. The meeting also decided to consider the possibility of publishing the whole competition draw in the ’Rugby Record Mr C. Rhodes said that this might stimulate sales of the programme
Rugby ahd TV A report that the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation would not show delayed te,ecasts of Rugbv matches provoked only one comment from the meeting. Mr McPhail said: We are not here to satisfy their customers; that is the corporation's job.’
