The art of successful mar riage should be taught in schools, according to ar American specialist on marriage guidance. All engaged couples should discuss their marriage plans with a guidance counsellor or clergyman even when they had no apparent problems, he said The specialist. Professor H. Bowman, of the University of Texas, is visiting Australia to lecture and to study the divorce law.
“Apart from sex education which is important, youngsters should learn of the relationships within the home the relationships between husband and wife and hat is expected of them.” he said. “They should all be given the opportunity to ask questions freely and frankly. “People often object to this because they say if you talk about these things you encourage youngsters to experiment and marry too early. “In fact, the opposite is true—if you talk about dangerous driving you don't encourage motorists to have accidents, or to drive too fast”
