North-South Match

The annual North versus South match will be played at Auckland on July 27, it was reported in a letter from the Canterbury delegate on the New Zealand Rugby League council, M T. Wellsmore, to a meeting of the Canterbury Rugby League last evening. August 3 was given as a tentative date for the South African touring team to play a South Island team in Christchurch. Mr Wellsmore also suggested that the management committee consider a Canterbury team to play South Africa in Christchurch

Replying to a question from Mr V. Wise (Hornby), the chairman of the management committee (Mr D. C. Wilson) said that the board of control had recently received definite information on the South African tour itinerary, and the possibility of a Canterbury match would be investigated at the next meeting of the board.
