£50,000 FOR HOSPITAL

Trust Grant In Invercargill (N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, June 7. The Invercargill Licensing Trust has decided to withdraw in toe meantime its offer to finance an ice-skat-ing rink in the city and will "reconsider the whole question of sponsorship of a civic amenity project at a later date ”

But the trust will support the Calvary Hospital appeal and is prepared to contribute £50.000 to be applied towards meeting the cost of a wing of the proposed Calvary Hospital buildings. Representations on behalf of the appeal were made to the general manager of the trust (Mr L. E. Raines) by Mrs A. Wachner, chairwoman of the women’s committee df the appeal organisation, on Wednesday It was as a result of Mrs Wachner’s representations that the trust decided to give the appeal £50.000 over a period of years.
