FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—Depressions near North Cape and north of East Cape are both moving east or southeastwards. An anti-cyclone lies over the south Tasman Sea Forecast.— Canterbury.—Light to moderate variable winds; cloudy with a few showers developing about and north of Banks Peninsula, cold temperatures. Outlook: Cloudy with a few showers. Marlborough.—Strong south-easterlies about the sounds, with periods of mainly light rain; light to moderate variable winds elsewhere with cloudy skies and scattered light rain; cold temperatures. Outlook: Scattered showers and increasing fair intervals.
Nelson.—Fresh to strong easterlies in the far north but light to moderate variable winds elsewhere; cloudy and cool with scattered light rain, chiefly in the north. Outlook Scattered showers and increasing fair intervals.
