Transport Board
Sir,—J. J. Neilson’s idea of holding a referendum to see what the ratepayers have to say about private enterprise taking over our transport system is an excellent one and could be held at the next municipal elections. The present board has been a dismal failure in showing a profit over many years but a deficit of several thousands and this year show a loss of £175,000, not £165,000 as J. J. Neilson states. I am certain that many ratepayers would subscribe to a referendum fund if needed.— Yours, etc.. THE COLONEL SAYS. May 24, 1963.
