The police trust fund for the education of the four infant children of the two detectives killed in the Waits kere shooting tragedy last January has been closed at £3226

Police throughout the country contributed £lBOO and members of the public £l4OO The public’s contribution was completely unsolicited. The widows of the two detectives, Mrs May Chalmers, of Glendowie, and Mrs Valerie Power, of Te Atatu. are amazed by the amount contributed.

They are both extremely grateful.
