Entries For June 8 Disappointing
Entries in the North Canterbury Ploughing Match Asaoclatlon's competitions on June 6 were very disappointing, said lhe secretary, Mr G F. Sheppard. yesterday. However, entries for the dog trials to be held In conjunction with the ploughing matche, were good # Nine entries had been received for the qualifying event for the Atlantic Silver Hough Ftve entries were received lor both class B (cut ploughing > and class E (plain ploughing) There would also be two classes for Young Farmer’ Club competitor* class F (long boards) and class G (abort boards). Nine entries had beer received for Class F. and two (or Class G A total of 48 entries had been received for the dog trials. Mr Sheppard said the fact that the association did not hold a match last year may have affected entries. From toe association's polr' ot view, it was disappointing there were only about two persons entered who had not ploughed under it before. By Introducing the Y.FC clast, entries had been Ukrr. away from a class which w i usually well supported N entries were received for Cl*.' D. for young ploughmen
