Performance Bv City Choir

An enthusiastic Auckland iu<Lence gave prolonged applause to the performance of Verdi's “Requiem" bv the Christchurch Harmonic Society on Saturday night.

The soloists were Elizabeth Hellawell (soprano), Lauris Elms (mezzo soprano). Peter Baillie (tenor), and Charles Naylor (bass). The Harmonic Society choir was under the direction of Mr William Hawkey, and the Nations' Orchestra was conducted by Mr John Hopkins. The performance was part of the Auckland music festival.
