Profit “Very Satisfactory"

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 2.

Profit to the New Zealand Rugby Union from the 18-day. five-match tour by England will be about £25.000. ( Describing this figure as “just a rough one,” the chairman (Mr T. C. Morrison) said today gross gates would be about £85,000. One third of each gate went to the union running the match, and expenses would account for about £25.000. Mr Morrison said he regarded the financial return as “very satisfactory."

“We have been criticised for the toughness of this tour, but the game had to be played in the main centres to ensure the success of it."
