APPRECIATION FOR HELP.—A schoolhouse under construction at Pangboche, in Nepal, one of two being built by the expedition in the Himalayas under the leadership of Sir Edmund Hillary. The schoolhouses, like the one built two years ago at Khumjumg, 12 miles from Mount Everest, were suggested by Sherpa headmen to whom Sir Edmund Hillary wished to show appreciation for help to his own and other expeditions.
