Plan For Save The Children

The North Canterbury branch of the Save the Children Fund is starting a pro ject to form Save the Children clubs in schools This was announced co members ol the committee of the branch by the president. Miss M G Havelaar. yesterday afternoon.

“I think this is a very great step forward." said Miss Havelaar. “This would give the Save the Children fund a very definite place in the schools" Mrs A. McCall, who sug ges’ed the formation of the children’s clubs within the schools, will be in charge of the project So far this year, the branch has packed 118 cases of articles for children Mrs H L Wilcox reported to the com mittee that the treigh' charges were going up “We will have to invite organisa tions which ask us to send things away foi them to contribute towards the freigh' cost” said Miss Havelaar. The committee decided to hold a stall at the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Show.
