Injuries Upset Canterbury
The Canterbury eoccer team to play Auckland and Wellington in the English Trophy series tomorrow and Monday has suffered a severe loss by the withdrawal at the Western inside-right, T. L Haydon.
Haydon injured a thigh muscle in a Hurley Shield match 12 days ago and it has not responded to treatment. His place in the side will be taken by the former Auckland player, D. Sansbury. who is playing his first season of soccer in Christchurch. Better news for Canterbury
is that the Nomads’ centrehalf, D. Simmonds, who aggravated an old ankle injury during the final practice match last Sunday, has reported fit and will travel with the team.
Sansbury was originally chosen for the B team to play against Nelson at English Park on Monday, and he will be replaced by P Kay. of High School Old Boys. It is the fourth change to have been made in the second teem, D. Scoble, J Kiilick and J. Young having withdrawn earlier in the
