ROYALIST VISITED

(N.Z. Press Association)

WELLINGTON. May 28.

An estimated 17.000 Japanese, including kimonoclad women and hordes of small boys, swarmed over the cruiser H.M.N.Z.S. Royalist during one afternoon when she was open to visitors in Hakata.

The Royalist, which is in the Far East, reached Hakata from Hong Kong, after taking part in exercise “Sea Serpent,” to begin a three port call to Japan.

The Royalist’s Rugby team was beaten, 49-5, by the Hakata team which toured New Zealand last year. The Royalist will go to Kure tomorrow, where she will remain until June ,3. She will then visit Tokyo from June 5 to June 10 before joining ships of the United States in an exercise.
