High Commissioner For Ceylon

WELLINGTON, May 27. The Government of Ceylon has appointed Major-General Anton- Marian Muttukumaru as High Commissioner for Ceylon in New Zealand He succeeds Mr W. D. Gunaratna

This was announced today by the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake).

Genera! Muttukumaru was educated at St. Joseph's College, Colombo, and Oxford University. He had a distinguished career in the Ceylonese Army. General Muttukumaru will be also accredited to Australia and will be resident in Canberra, making periodic visits to New Zealand.
