REFINERY DISPUTE
Settlement Reached (N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 21. Negotiations in the Mars den Point oil refinery dispute ended in complete settlemeiM today, said the vicepresident of the Federation of Labour (Mr T. E Skinner)
The settlement was reached in day-long talks between F.0.L., union and employers' representatives It meant a substantial increase in w ges for the men working on the refinery, said Mr Skinner, with the exception of the electrical workers who had refused to accept F O.L. decisions Representatives of the Labourers’ Union and Engineers’ Union, neither of which is affiliated with the F.0.L.. agreed to the terms. AU increases would be included in the basic rates, said Mr Ski _ ner, and would apply for the duration of the job Carpenters, labourers, engineers, drivers, electricians and bo’lermakere have been affected by the dispute which began when the workers sought increases in wages and a site allowance in midFebruary
