Record 50-Mile Walk
(N.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS, May 13. A Havelock North schoolgirl, Yvonne Tregerthan, aged 14, claimed the New Zealand record for a 50-mile walk by a girl this morning. She completed her walk in 14hr 19min. The previous best time was set by Judith Fisher, of Canterbury. One of the youngest 50miile walkers is Brian Rowell, aged 10, of Blenheim, who covered the distance in 19 hours on Saturday.
