Burglars Steal £340 Worth Of Cameras

Five cameras, valued at £340, were stolen by burglars who broke into the premises of Photographic Service, Ltd., Victoria street, during the week-end. The burglars cut a hole in a glass panel of the front door. They were then confronted with a burglar-proof lock, and smashed the glass so that they could enter without opening the door. One of the cameras, worth about £4O, has been recovered by the police. The owner of the business, Mr K. D. Sintes, said the recovered camera was now almost useless. Detectives are also investigating the breaking into a shop at the corner of Waimairi road and Annandale street during the week-end. Cigarettes and tobacco worth £l2 were stolen.
