Suggestion For Schools (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 13. "Laboratory assistants could and should be employed in the next year in a number of selected post-primary schools of various types.” a sub-committee of the Hutt Valley regional branch of the Post-Primary Teachers’ Association recommended to'day in a report presented at the annual conference of the region today The report said much work which should be done to make science teaching adequate and efficient remained undone for lack of time.
The employment of laboratory assistants was possible immediately without necessarily involving a system of training, it said. However, a training programme would become desirable as the scheme developed.
