MR WALSH ABSENT

Illness Stops Appearance (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. May 13. Illness prevented the appearance today of the president of the Federation of Labour (Mr F. P Walsh) at a sitting of the commission investigating local butterfat returns.

His place was taken by the federation’s research officer Mr D. B. McDonald, who cross-examined the Secretary to the Treasury (Mr E L Greensmith).

Mr Walsh, who has appeared to be suffering from ill-health several times recently, is not expected to be able to attend the proceedings for some days.
