TROTTING Peerswick Expected To Make Amends At Oamaru

Peerswick is selected to make amends for two defeats at the recent Wellington meeting with a win in the Oamaru Juvenile Stakes tomorrow. This race is the second leg of the on-course double at the Oamaru Trotting Club’s North Otago centennial meeting.

Peerswick finished fifth on an easy track on the first night of the Wellington meeting. That hard race must have “knocked” him as he showed no dash after leading to the straight and he finished a long way back.

Peerswick stamped himself «s the best of his age when he won the New Zealand Welcome Stakes at the Addington Easier meeting The Dignu. colt has great speed and stamina and if he has recovered fully from his fruitless trip to Wellington he could be too good for most in this field. Falstaff. another son of Dignus, won twice at Hutt Park after failing rather badly in the New Zealand Welcome Stakes. His Wellington wins were most impressive and he should again be one of the brighter prospects

Meadowmac was beaten narrowly by Falstaff on the sroond night at Hutt Park He is trained by G. B. Noble who already has four training and driving successes to his credit in the race Meadowmac has drawn favourably and should be hard to head.

Bellajily, Kildare Kate and Patchy are other winners in the race. Bellajily has drawn more favourably than the other two and if she races as well as when she finished third in the Welcome Stakes at Addington, she should be prominent Wildwood Chief. Cathpete Pocky Sar Tactus. Stephen Water and Lady Luronne have shown to advantage in some of their racing and they should add interest to the finish

Flyn, Officious Piper and May Return form a likely trie for the first leg of the on-course double, the White City Handicap The field includes a number of form runners and betting will be well spread among Aero Scott, Kinsella. Hydro Power. Leyava. Scotebum. Singaway and Solemn, all of which have sufficient ability to win in this class.

The TA B. double will oe run on the Centennial Pace

and the R A. McDowell Memorial Handicap. Fair weather is forecast and the track should be in splendid order
