WEST INDIES’ FIRST WIN

Fine Bowling By Griffith (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. May 8 The fast bowler. C. Griffith, in a deadly spell of three wickets for six runs, skittled out the Gloucestershire tail batsmen and gave the West Indies the first tour victorv yesterday. Griffith took five for 35 in Gloucester’s second innings and finished with a match analysis of 13 for 58. West Indies won by 65 runs. A fine century by Gloucestershire's opening batsman. M. Young, enabled the county to put up a fight, but Young and his fellow batsmen were all out by lunch for 214. Only S. Ramadhin has taken 13 wickets in a match for West Indies in England at a lower cost than the 58 Griffith conceded.
