WELLINGTON. May 7. The committees which will make recommendations on grants from the Golden Kiwi lottery fund fm medical and scientific research have been asked by the Minister of Internal Affairs (Sir Leo- Gets), to meet as ■‘••n as possible The committees were appointed In December but have not yet had a meeting. In reply to an inquiry by "The Press.” the Minister said there had apparently been a mis-
understanding about the committees in that they had been waiting for word from him while he bad been expecting to bear from them. “It is a matter for these committees to formulate the policy under which they will make their recommendations. ** he said. “Some big grants are likely to be made in these fields. I have no doubt that when the committees meet the requests from the large organisations concerned will be f' "hcoming.”
