The committees which will make recommendations on grants from the Golden Kiwi lottery fund fm medical and scientific research have been asked by the Minister of Internal Affairs (Sir Leo- Gets), to meet as ■‘••n as possible The committees were appointed In December but have not yet had a meeting. In reply to an inquiry by "The Press.” the Minister said there had apparently been a mis-

understanding about the committees in that they had been waiting for word from him while he bad been expecting to bear from them. “It is a matter for these committees to formulate the policy under which they will make their recommendations. ** he said. “Some big grants are likely to be made in these fields. I have no doubt that when the committees meet the requests from the large organisations concerned will be f' "hcoming.”
