Fatal Crash At Papakura (N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND. May 7. The pilot of a Piper Cub aircraft was killed near Papakura Shis morning when it crashed into the side of a hill. He was Mr Cyril Oswald Chambers, aged about 52. married. of Great South road. Manurewa. • He was operations manager for Barr Bros., a topdressing firm based at Ardmore. "Die aircraft, believed to have left Ardmore aerodrome early this morning, was seen circling above Puke Kiwiriki Pa. on Red Hill, in clear, calm weather. About 7.30 a.m. a resident saw a pall of black smoke rising from the hill. When he reached the scene he found the pilot’s body lying about 4ft from the almost burned-out aircraft.
