TROTTING Ruling Caste Expected To Win At Forbury

Ruling Caste should add to her splendid record of the last few months when she contests the Peninsula Handicap on the second night of the Wellington Trotting Club’s winter meeting tomorrow.

Ruling Caste, a four-year-old mare by Brahman from Riviera, has had three wins and five placings from her last 11 starts.

She finished strongly from mid-field for third to Parados and Nigger Minstrel in a sprint race at Hutt Park on April 22 al her most recent appearance. The longer distance in this race should suit her admirably.

Captain Dee. a newcomer to the class, will add interest to the race. He won most impressively over two miles last week after making almost all of the pace. The Free Fight gelding is in

splendid form at present and another winning run might not be beyond him. The Southland four-year-old. Otikirama Boy. is considered a likely improver. He forced a solid pace in his race last week and dropped out in the straight to finish third. That run could improve him considerably and he could be much harder tc beat this week. Mannequin Parade made ground for third last week after meeting trouble early She could again be one of the brighter prospects. Chiffon has been a consistent place-getter, but a win seems to be beyond her. She is very well and could be in the money again. Country Song beat all but Lady Ngaire last Saturday. However, he had a very hard race and might not show the same improvement as some in the event.

Quiet Water showed great ability early in his career. He has been off the scene for more than 12 months.

and if he is anywhere near his best should race prominently. He is a five-year-old stallion and might need a run or two to bring him to his peak.

Anama and Stanorma are others expected to show to advantage. The double will be run on the Queen’s Handicap and the Southland Handicap. Flying Blue and Lakeda forming a likely combination.
