BASKETBALL ON TV

Live Telecasts At No Charge

An application by the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation to make live telecases of indoor basketball matches in the Cowles Memorial Stadium on four Saturday afternoons during the season was appro-ed unanimously by the Canterbury Men’s Basketball Association last evening. The games will be offered at no charge to the Broadcasting Corporation in line with the policy of the New Zealand Men’s Basketball Association on live telecasting of games. As competition matches are normally held on Tuesday evcsings. a decision as to the games to be played for television will be made later by the association. It is believed that similar arrangements for Saturday afternoon telecasts have been made in Auckland and Wellington.
