Session Opens On June 20

WELLINGTON, May 2.
The third and final session of the present Parliament will open on Thursday, June 20. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said today that the Governor-General (Sir Bernard Fergusson) would open the session with the customary ceremonial at 2.30 p.m. The House of Representatives would meet the next morning and after paying tribute to deceased members of Parliament it would adjourn till Tuesday, June 25. Mr Holyoake said the session would possibly end in October to allow time for campaigning before the General Election
Auckland Debt Increases
(N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND. May 2 The Auckland City Council public debt reached £15.322 891' net at March 31 This was an increase of £1.815.930 over tha net total for the previous financial year. In the last four years indebtedness has increased by £3.726.104
