(NZ. Press Association) WELLINGTON. May 1. Thirty . eight glamorous Japanese showgirls, radian* in national costume, were given a rousing welcome when they arrived at Wei. lington airport today They stepped from their aircraft to shake the hands of the Minister of Finance (Mr Lake), the Japanese
Ambassador (Mr K. Hara> and a eity councillor. Mr N M. Manthe! On the tarmac, each of the girls was handed a bouquet with the compliments of the Meat Board.
They then heard and returned speeches of welcome The girls comprise the bulk of the Nichigeki dancing team which starts a 15-week tour of New Zealand tomorrow.
