(N.Z. Press Assn.— Copyright) SAN ANTONIO (Texas), April 26 The New Zealand lefthander, R. J. Charles, scored a four-under-scratch 67 in the first round of the Texas open golf championship yesterday —and found himself in joint fifth place. Leading the field, three strokes ahead of Charles, was the young Sydney professional, Bruce Crampton, who had an eagle at the tenth on the San Antonio course in his 64. Bunched in second place, on 66, were four Americans— Phil Rogers, Don January. Johnny Potts, and Tommy Aaron. Charles shared fifth place with 13 players, and another 13 were on 68.
