A dawn service to commemorate Anzac Day was held aboard the mter-island steamer express Maori when the vessel was about 12 miles from Godley Head at 5.30 am yesterday About 35 passengers and members of the ship’s company who were available were present on the arier deck when the master. Captain T H. J Davis, conducted the service
A wreath was dropped overboard by members of the ship's company Anzac Day was commemorated at Lyttelton with a service for next-of-km conducted by th- Rev C. J Goldsmith at the R.S.A graves plot in the Lyttelton cemetery
A wreath-laying ceremony held at the Cenotaph later -n the morning was attended by about 300. including returned
servicemen nurses and members of the public Mr Goldsmith led the prayers The Lyttelton Marine Band was in attendance.
