MINOR FIRES
Fire slightly damaged a mattress in a houae at 93 Hanrahan street, occupied by Mr F. A. Carter, at 211 p.m. vesterday. Units from the Central and Sockburr stations of the Christchurch Fire Brigade answered the call.
At 7.8 p.m.. a eall to 121 Barrington street. where there was a ch-mney fire in a house occupied by Mrs P Staples, was received The fire caused no damage. A rubbish fire in the boiler houM of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce building at the corner of Oxford terrace and Worcester street, about the same time, caused no damage An oven fire in the home of Mr I. Tyrer, 400 Gloucester street, at 8.23 p.m, caused no damage.
„ Stolen.—The Homal Post Office. 16 miles from Auckland, was burgled last night and the safe holding about £lOO in cash and quantities of postal notes and stamps stolen —(PA.)
