There will be eight teams in each of the lower two grades. The University club will again be responsible for the

organisation of all interclub matches, and Christ s College will control the Christchurch closed championships from June 17 to June 21. The Christchurch club has applied to the New Zealand association for the week-end beginning July 12, as dates for the Canterbury open event. It is also hoped this season to commence regular representative fixtures between Canterbury and South Canterbury on a provincial rather than club level, with the selection of the Canterbury team based as far as possible on the Canterbury ranking ladder.
