DRIVERS FINED £3O Hawera Race Incidents (NJS Press Association) HAWERA April 15. A fine of £2O was imposed on the trainer-driver. M. R. Kerr, after an incident in the Stewards' Handicap, the second leg of the double at the Hawera Trotting Club's second meeting today. Kerr the driver of Hamutana, was alleged to have held on to the sulky of Lola Stirling, driven by G. D. Grantham. After the same inquiry. Grantham was fined £lO for striking Kerr across the hands with hl* whip I O. Thomas was unseated at the start of the Waimate Plains Handicap, the first leg of the double, when Scots Guide iG. Smith) ran out and the sulky's wheel locked with a wheel of the sulky driven byThomas (Steads). The owners were warned that Scots Guide's manners would not be tolerated and must show improvement.
