PARENTS SEEK SON

Murder Feared In Australia

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, April 15. An English couple arrived in Sydney at the week-end to look for their son—but they fear he may have been murdered.

The couple, Mr and Mrs James Edmonds, of Portsmouth, have not heard from their son for more than three years. They fear he was murdered during a train trip from Adelaide to Alice Springs. The son is Alan Ivor Edmonds, aged 32, a former London journalist. He last wrote to his parents on September 7. 1959, from Adelaide, saying he was setting out for Alice Springs. Since then they have heard nothing; Mr Edmonds was collecting material in Australia for a book.

One report that he had been found in Tasmania proved to be false.

A T.E.A.L. flight steward was reported to have said in Sydney last night that he had seen Mr Edmonds crossing a sireet in Auckland last Tuesday. "I had seen him once before, in a bus seat in front of me,” the flight steward said.

Several other persons also said they had seen Mr Edmonds since his disappearance.
