NEVER ON SUNDAY

The course proper was not open for galloping at Riccarton yesterday: but there were innocents abroad. While other trainers were working their horses on the plough and the sand, r lad from Wingatui brought Grand Prix on to the course and set off on a strong working gallop.

There were shouts on all sides, but the young rider did not think he was the centre of attention, and be went on his way. After this “stolen” gallop the lad was warned v hat , would happen if he galloped on a “closed” track again.
