Petrie (both of Returned Services), J. B. Rennie (Christchurch), R. Wilson (Westport), R. Harker (Westport Watersiders) and R. Barnett (Christchurch Working Men’s Club) all finished with seven wins.

Those with six wins were C. O'Brien (Returned Services), I. Kitchen (Runanga), P. McKenzie (Westport). P. Marshall (Redcliffs), J. Brennan (Blaketown), A. Jeavins (Rangiora) and S. Dunne (Cobden).

The qualifying rounds were played on three Westport greens all of which were in splendid order. The teams skipped by Barnett and Rennie played consistently good bowls but will meet strong opposition in the post-section play tomorrow.
