LYNTON DOWNS FIELD DAY
Fine weather and good fields were a feature of the Lynton Downs’ field day trials held recently on the property of Mr M. T. Evans.
Judges were- Mr H. R. Roxburgh, of Waiau, in the huntaway section and for the heading events Mr F. J. Peach, of Kaikoura. Results were as follows:
Huntaway. Open: j. J. Smith’s Stone, 91 points, 1; A. M. Morton’s Chief, 88, 2; N. T. Boyd's Rock, 87. 3. Maiden: A. M. Morton’s Chief. 88. 1; N. T. Boyd's Rock, 87. 2: M. Knox’s Laddie, 82. 3. District maiden: M. Knox's Laddie, 82. 1; T. A. Blunt’s Sam, 78. 3.

Fourth Camp.— The United States Everest expedition yesterday established a fourth camp, at 24,300 ft, less than 5000 ft from the summit, according to a message received in Katmandu, the British United Press reported.—Katmandu. April 9.
