End-of-Year Rush Of New Companies

In the last week of March no fewer than 27 companies were registered in Christchurch. This is the highest weekly total in Christchurch for many months, reflecting tiie t esire of company promoters to register their companies before the end of the 1962-63 financial year. The new companies and five other registered on April I—are all private companies. Their capital ranges from £5O to £75,000 (for an Ashburton woolbuying firm) and their activities extend from farming to financing and manufacturing.
