Police Fire On Africans (N Z.P A.-Reuter—Copyright) PRETORIA. April 9 Police fired on groups of Africans in incidents in King Williams Town and East London, Cape Province, last night, police headquarters in Pretoria disclosed today. At King Williams Town. Africans stormed the police station from the rear, throwing home-made incendiary bombs, four of which burst against the walls, police said A stone was also thrown through the station commander’s window Police fired to repulse the attack, two Africans, one of them slightly wounded, were arrested Police headquarters said only slight damage was done in the attack and no policeman was injured Police in East London surrounded a plantation, near Duncan village in which Africans were holding a meeting Police identified themselves and shots were immediately fired from trees Police returned the fire Police headquarters said a total of 11 Africans, including fugitive leaders of the PanAfricanist Congress, were arrested One of the men arrested was slightly wounded
